Our CAT 7 to 10 Aircraft Fire Training Simulator is a modern live-fire training platform that offers realistic and repeatable firefighting scenarios for Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) teams. This simulator is built to endure intensive daily training and replicates large-scale aircraft fuselage, wing, and engine fire scenarios using controlled LPG and / or kerosene fuel systems.
This system allows crews to safely train in real-world conditions, including catastrophic external fires and challenging internal cabin environments, while ensuring complete operational safety with a variety of automated control and protection systems.
Key features
Realistic fire scenarios
- External fires: wing, engine nacelle, undercarriage, fuselage, and ground spill fires
- Internal fires: cabin, galley, cockpit, and cargo bay simulations
- Independent or combined fire zones for complex, multi-stage drills
- Variable flame intensity and duration for graded training levels
Dual-fuel operation
This simulator operates on LPG and or kerosene providing flexibility and realism in fire characteristics and smoke output:
- Fast ignition and clean-burning LPG for routine training
- Dense, high-thermal kerosene fires for improved realism
Robust steel construction
The simulator features a fully welded, high-strength steel fuselage and wing assembly designed for long-term outdoor use:
- Corrosion-protected with high-temperature coatings.
- The structural design can withstand repeated exposure to heat, water, and foam applications.
Control options
Pneumatic control station (external fires only)
This option is simple, rugged, and easy to maintain:
- Pneumatic valves control fuel flow and ignition for all external fire zones
- Ideal for sites with minimal electronic infrastructure
- Includes emergency stop and fuel isolation functions
Fully computerized control system (external & internal fires)
This system features a touch-screen PLC-based control panel with intuitive scenario selection:
- Real-time system monitoring, safety interlocks, and automatic shut-down on fault detection
- Run pre-programmed training sequences or control the system manually
- Integrated data logging for training records and maintenance tracking
- Remote operation is supported from a control tower or instructor station
Emergency control safety pendant (internal fires only)
This hand-held wired pendant gives the instructor immediate emergency control during internal fire drills.
It provides instant fuel isolation and activates the drenching system for personnel safety.
Integrated water drenching system
This system has a full-coverage water deluge network throughout the fuselage and wing:
- Independently controllable zones for external cooling or internal smoke clearance
- Foam proportioning systems for ARFF training
- Automatic activation linked to emergency stop and over-temperature sensors
ARFF target piercing panels
These are replaceable target panels installed on fuselage and wing surfaces for live tool and piercing nozzle training.
- Designed for rapid replacement between drills
- Withstand high thermal and mechanical loads during live burns
Safety and compliance
This system is designed and built in line with NFPA 1402, NFPA 58, and relevant international standards for live-fire training systems.
- Equipped with multiple emergency stop points, gas detection, flame supervision, and automatic fuel isolation valves
- Comprehensive interlock logic ensures there is no unsafe fuel release or ignition
- Fully tested and certified before shipping
- Complete commissioning and instructor training package
Performance and maintenance
The simulator features fast scenario reset and cooldown times for high throughput training days:
- Modular design allows for upgrades or expansion of fire zones
- Accessible service hatches make maintenance and inspection easy
- Full documentation and training manuals provided
Installation and commissioning
The simulator is delivered as pre-fabricated modular sections for quick on-site assembly:
- Full factory acceptance testing (FAT) is done before delivery
- On-site commissioning and instructor / operator training is included
- Annual maintenance and re-certification options are available
Optional add-ons
- Sound machine: an integrated sound and light system for explosion or impact simulation, replicates trapped people
- Smoke generation units enhancing visual realism
- Foam test area for proportioning and application practice
- Environmental management system for water runoff and fuel recovery
